The 3 Iranian border guards who had crossed the border into Pakistan while pursuing drug smugglers and had killed one and injuring another, were freed by the court. The three guards had been detained and were presented before the court where the parents and relatives of the injured and the killed man forgave the guards, withdrawing their charges and the court subsequently freed the men upon fining them 100 dollars for border crossing.

The deal for the parents to forgive the Iranian guards was brokered by the local tribal leaders and the parent of the deceased man received money, the amount of which was rumored by some reports to be Rs.10 lakh (One million) or about $11,000.

Qasas Ordinance: 3 Iranian security personnel acquitted – The Express Tribune

they should have been shot, they should have been made an example for any further murders, the family should not have forgiven these terrorists

If they really killed the drug smuglers , GOP and courts should have awarded them medals and rewarded them ... instead of fines , great work by iranian forces they are serious about countering drugs into their country .. same is the case with GCC countries ,, Why cant they all pressure pakistan to quit this business

^^^^^^^^^^^^^why are pakistanis ignorant of reality ..we are in inferiority complex and like all other countries regardlessly of what they do!!!!

qisas laws are just and excellent...its upto family memebers to take money or life but one thing is for sure, along with qasa law there should be additional sentence(as qisas law is the minimun requirement and no law should be harsh from it) so they should have bben semtence to some jail regardlessly of the settlement for other things like possessing ilegeal arm inside pakistan, etc etc.. then ofcourse if the govt of pakistan wanted to release them as good gesture the president should have acquitted them.

in islamic law qisas cant be abolished by anyone but additonal sentence can be.

^^^^^ I guess the only other law that existed was for illegal entry and for that they were fined 100 dollars. Also since they were uniformed combatants, I guess there must have been some Geneva convention laws applied.

Civil laws of Pakistan does not apply on foreign combatants.
Neither Qisas law apply on foreign combatants, therefore the relatives of deceased have no right to forgive in given situation.

it is a joke with Pakistan and distortion of Islamic law.

I think you didn't read the news!

News says the only reason for their release was the payment of 'qisas' same provision which Raymond Davis invoked, while he killed so called mobile snatchers.

Starting from today, Pakistan lost the right of criticism to Raymond David murders.

I have no doubt these were a deliberate murders by iran regime just to clean the mud from Raymond David's name.

This is as shameful for Pakistan as it can get.

good move by Pakistan. Thanks brothers.

In your belief you can kill your brothers in COLD BLOOD !!

They needed to be freed. I personally believe that Pakistan needs to have really good relationships with Iran in near future!

Good relationship is one thing but killing someone is other. What is there to gain from a relationship where a person is killed and there is nothing done about it. No offense to the Pakistani member on the forum or the Pakistani Judicial system, but looking at it makes me feel that they just bought the life of that person that was killed, and feel shamed that the family took the money.
