Srinagar, Oct 25 (PTI) Militants today carried out two grenade attacks on security force installations in the city in a span of about five minutes, injuring three CRPF personnel.

The ultras struck in the Maisuma area near Lal Chowk by lobbing a grenade at a CRFF bunker outside Dashnami Akhara building at 12:25 PM, official sources said.

They said the grenade landed inside the picket resulting in injuries to three CRPF jawans who were admitted in a hospital.

Minutes later, another grenade was thrown by militants at a police post in Batmaloo, less than a kilometre away from site of the first blast, the sources said.

No one was injured in the Batmaloo blast.

Police and CRPF personnel have cordoned off both the scenes of blast and so far detained one suspect for questioning.

The twin grenade attacks in the summer capital, which sparked panic, comes at a time when the state government plans to revoke the Armed Forces Special Powers Act from parts of the state.

Police has launched a manhunt to nab the militants and presence of security personnel around the city has been strengthened. PTI

really, are you saying from heart?

Of course I say it from my heart. The soldiers fighting are fighting for their government, representing their country. They comprise of ordinary citizens, not the corrupt regime. They have to feed their children & their families too, through the 'mediocre' salaries they get. I just report these news items, just like you Indians do about every single rape, murder & atrocity against minorities taking place in Pakistan. I don't see anything wrong with my threads or my posts.

The wish to remove the AFSPA was but an idea born out of the decrease in militancy in Kashmir . people do not see that it was because the armed forces had a free hand they were able to keep militancy in check . they want a normal life . there are points on both sides . while i do not subscribe to the removal of the act . i can see the advantages the other side is talking about too.

This thread has not about Pakistan though, so why bring up Pakistan in a thread that has nothing to do with it?

My apologies.I should just start a new thread over it much like what you do :woot:

I was looking into your motivations,on what makes you tick. You concern for Indian soldiers seems outweigh the same sentiments for Pakistani ones.I'm pretty sure a guy who's well informed such as yourself couldn't have missed the front page of a Pakistani news site.
