The next best thing indeed. Wars are fought for all kinds of stupid reasons.
Indeed the brave khap leaders who fight this war by attacking unarmed couples in love. Many who don't even violate the very rules they cite for ordering those killings.

When courts pass the death sentence on someone they too kill unarmed people. how come you find that acceptable ?

If people do not violate the rules why would any panchayat pass a death sentence ? love leading to Incest has been deemed unacceptable in our soceity.

I agree that Khaps have no business interfearing in inter caste marriages. Khaps can only work to the limits of their influence.

Yes that is one of the difference between the courts and the Khaps. Khaps have a different criteria and teh courts have a different criteria.

Not any more than seeing a child starving on the streets or hearing about kids getting sexual abused or seeing people vote for congress or seeing kashmiris killed by Indian bullets.

The majority of the khaps do a difficult job that will earn them only criticism. They do it for the betterment of society as they see it. The way we vote for the betterment of society as we see it.

You want to end the killings start a movement for recognizing gotra in Indian Law. Let the law become a law for Hindus by Hindus, rather than a law for Hindus by the christian British.

What is there to dicuss ? no one promotes wanton killing. Bring khap laws into the mainstream and their need goes away. Khap exist for a reason, becuase they fulfill a need, address a gap. adios.
