Seven killed, 6 injured in Karachi violence

At least seven persons including a father and son were killed and six others injured in separate incidents of violence in different localities of the city during the past twenty four hours.
In Khaskhaili area unknown motorcyclists gunned down two labourers, Nazeer and his son Sami while they were busy in offloading crates of fruit from container. The police said that the shooting incident could be outcome of personal enmity.
The dead body of a 35 year old man was found dumped by a roadside in Haji Camp locality of Napier. The victim was shot dead after brutal torture.
Unknown assailants shot dead 25-year-old Wasim outside his home in Baldia Town. Another person identified as Mohammed Rafique 35, was also killed by firing in Baldia Town.
Dead body of an unknown person spotted by locals was recovered from Lyari’s Khadda Market who had been tortured to death.
Ghulam Rasool 23, was gunned down by unknown armed men in Bhitaiabad area. The dead body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
Mohammed Salman 53, who was shot injured in Lasbela area some three days ago succumbed to his wounds at a local hospital on Sunday.
Meanwhile, a dacoit was arrested while his accomplice fled away when police on a routine patrol approached them near Hassan Square area while they were busy in looting passersby at gunpoint. Police claimed to have recovered snatched stuff from possession of the arrested dacoit.
In another incident, motorcyclists shot dead a 30-year-old unknown man on Siddique Wahab Road. He received three bullets and died on the spot.

10 more killed in Karachi violence

At least 10 people were killed and eight others injured in different incidents of firing in the provincial metropolis here late Thursday.

In Godhra, the clash between two unidentified armed groups killed atleast four people including a woman and left eight others injured.

Separately, a 28-years old man identified as Nazar-ul-Islam was shot dead by some unknown armed men in Shah Faisal colony No-2, Karachi.

Some unidentified gunmen shot dead 25-years old Sunny and 55-years old Abbasi in Sindhi Hotel, New Karachi.

Meanwhile, two others were killed in firing incidents in Nazimabad and Kharadar.

The injured and dead bodies were shifted to Hospital for medico legal requirements.

Karachi less peaceful than Swat: Haji Adeel

Awami National Party (ANP)’s senator Haji Adeel has said that law and order situation in Swat was better than Karachi. Talking to media in Peshawar on Sunday he said he did not felt fear in Swat but was scared of visiting Karachi. He said that the ANP wanted peace in Karachi and all the decisions taken for the sake of people’s interest should be implemented. He added that the MQM, PPP and ANP has agreed to remove flags and banners in the city. Adeel said population of Karachi was increasing and the city should be divided in six districts.

You are only talking about gang violence, not violence from terrorism. If I start talking about deaths in India from sources besides terrorism, it will be never ending.
 
Pakistan: Karachi violence claims three more lives

Karachi, July 02 – Armed clashes between two rival groups in Godhra Colony of New Karachi in Pakistan on Friday, claiming three more lives and taking the death toll in the two-day gunfight to six while no concrete action was seen being taken by the city’s security administration to stop the violence.

According to Dawn-News, a semblance of normality that returned to the area after the nightlong gun battle between the groups disappeared in the afternoon on Friday with the killing of a Sunni Tehrik activist.

A police official said that the armed clash that broke out over a dispute on the administration of a community-run hospital in Sector 11-G of New Karachi commonly known as Godhra Camp on Thursday evening led to the firing from both sides — the Sunni Tehrik and the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ), formerly known as the Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan.

A spokesperson for the Sunni Tehrik claimed that the victim was their party activist and targeted by “the banned outfit” only for his association with the ST.

In the overnight clashes, two people were killed and another was wounded as the area people witnessed intense firing while the police were unable to arrest any culprit.

The officials said that the areas of Sector 11-G and 5-G remained the worst-hit where armed men were seen freely moving on roads attacking rivals.

Five men gunned down in different areas

KARACHI, July 3: Two persons were shot dead by unknown assailants in different parts of Lyari in the early hours of Sunday, police said.

A duty officer at the Napier police station said that the body of an unidentified man stuffed in a gunny bag was found in the Syed Mohammad Shah Road area. There were marks of torture on the body, he said, adding that the victim might have been kidnapped and killed somewhere else before his body was dumped at the place where it was found.

Police said that the victim appeared to be around 25 to 26 years old. He was subjected to torture and there were multiple bullet wounds on his body, they said.

The body was first shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities and later to the Edhi morgue for identification.

The police suspected that the victim was associated with one of the Lyari gangs.

An FIR (102/2011) was registered against unknown killers on behalf of the state at the Napier police station.

In a separate incident, a man was shot dead late on Saturday night in the Khadda Market area within the remit of the Baghdadi police station.

Police said that 47-year-old Abdul Aziz, son of Mohammad Yousuf, was standing outside a mosque when unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle shot him. The victim was rushed to the civil hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds, they added.

An FIR (176/2011) was registered against unknown killers at the Baghdadi police station on a complaint of the victim`s family.

Two killed in Baldia Town

A man was killed by unknown armed men in Baldia Town late on Saturday night.

Police said Mohammad Rafique, 35, son of Mohammad, was riding by the stadium in Baldia Town No 8 on his motorcycle when armed men traveling in a car fired at him. The victim was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where he was pronounced dead.

Following the legal formalities, the body was handed over to his family.

Police have registered an FIR (389/2011) against unidentified armed men on the complaint of the victim`s brother at the Saeedabad police station.

In Baldia Town No 5, a young man was killed by unknown persons on Sunday morning.

A duty officer at the Baldia police station said Waseem, 20, son of Gulab Khan, was returning from work when armed men riding a motorcycle intercepted him near a National Bank branch and shot him, apparently after he posed resistance to their bid to rob him.

The victim was rushed to the CHK but he died on the way, he said.

After legal formalities at the hospital, the body was handed over to his family.

Activist shot dead

A political activist was shot dead within the remit of the Sachal police station late on Saturday night, police said.

A duty officer at the police station said Khadim Husain, 35, a resident of Korangi stated to be a worker of the Sindh National Front, came to Bhitaiabad to visit his father`s house. As he was heading towards a teashop in the neighborhood, unknown suspects riding a motorcycle shot him and fled.

Police said the victim suffered a gunshot wound in the chest and died on the spot.

Police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities.

Six-year-old drowns

A six-year-old boy drowned near Hawkesbay beach on Sunday, Edhi sources said.

They said the victim, Khalid, along with his family was enjoying a picnic at the beach when he was swept away by a high tide.

The body was fished out and shifted to the JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

I think Gun culture is behind this... It happen so many times we get Angry, In anger we try to hurt our enemy, In India we use batton, axe, sword or punch-kicks, lucky we (Indian) don't have firearms else we could have killed our enemy.

Pakistan govt should bann all weapons, let the ppl fight using batton, punch-kick...

But I Fail to understand how that could happen in the biggest city of pakistan, a financial hub, on a regular basis ?? Where is law enforcement agencies... situation is very grave
