10 Billion Tree Tsunami: PTI government takes a unique initiative
ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Climate Change and National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to use drone technology for its ‘10 Billion Tree Tsunami’ project to fight climate change.

According to details, as part of the country’s strategy to use drone technology to plant millions of trees and strengthen the ‘Clean Green Pakistan Movement’, the Ministry of Climate Change signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Rural Support Programme (NRSP).

Irfan Tariq, director-general in charge of environment in the Climate ministry, and Rashid Bajwa, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NRSP have inked the accord.

Advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan on climate change Amin Aslam, who witnessed the signing, said that modern technology, like drone, will also be used for the plantation of 10 billion tree across the country.

"In addition to this, a Rs100 million ‘Challenge Fund for Climate Smart Projects’ will be launched, starting from March, to encourage youth engagement in climate-smart activities," Amin Aslam added.

I honestly hope that Imran Khan's government remain true to their goals, and perform their duties in an exemplary manner. That the people of Pakistan rally behind their government and work together as one nation to achieve how China has achieved.

The 10 billion trees is not only ambitious, but also courageous. It epitomizes the drive behind Imran Khan's government. What we as a people of Pakistan ought to do, is amplify our creative side and come forward with our own innovations to help in this project. Work together in synergy, as one nation, united and driven by positive ambition.

It is not difficult task in u.s they use drones for plantation of billions of trees in low cost and short time by using bullets containing seeds which burry seeds by firing from drones in air but here this govt has wasted billions in advertisment to take political credits in last 5yrs in the name of tree plantation and only govt talking loud and making false claims of having planted billions of trees but in west no one of their leaders take credit of such good acts and quietly do their job and practically implement their plans without showoff like pti govt is doing

Very good initiative. Though I saw a Washington Post article which said that Pakistan needs a Trillion trees to undo the deforestation.
But it's a good start. Equally, on war footing should be, lining of irrigation system.
